Brain Computer Interface (BCI)に利用される脳波
P300
ヒト脳波の刺激に対する応答はその刺激の発生確率によって変化します.つまり高頻度の刺激と低頻度の刺激で刺激に対する脳波応答が異なります.P300と呼ばれる刺激後300 msごろに現れる正のピークは低頻度刺激に対して高く,高頻度刺激に対して低い振幅を持つことが知られています .
この応答の興味深い点は刺激の種類によらず同様の現象が見られることです.つまり,音の課題(オドポール課題)でも視覚の課題(P300スぺラ)でも刺激発生確率によって変化が見られます.
さらに面白い点は注目している刺激とそれ以外の刺激という形でグルーピングされることです.P300スぺラでは画面上の文字が一定のルールで光っていきます.この時,ある文字が光る確率は一定です.しかし,特定の文字に注意をしたとき,注目している(入力したい)文字が光る確率は低く,その他の文字が光る確率は高くなります.このときP300の振幅は注目している文字が光る際のみ大きくなります.物理的な発生確率ではなく,ヒト脳内での情報の解釈(グルーピングや注意)に基づいて応答が変化する点は非常に面白いです.
